My interest lies in capturing the consequences of an adopted value or belief system.  Through my work, I take a snapshot of the state of mind, emotion or outcome that has developed from that belief.
 

A period of considerable change in my own life prompted me to look more closely at the choices, beliefs and circumstances that had shaped its direction. This sparked a deeper interest in how beliefs take hold and the influence they can have on the course of a life.

Their significance is often difficult to recognise at the time, yet in retrospect they may stand out as the origin of profound change.

 

Through contemporary watercolour and mixed media, I explore themes such as regret, self-doubt, identity, control, belonging and the stories we construct about ourselves.

In 2010 I turned my love of painting into a full-time career.  My early practice centred largely around decorative and portraiture work.

After relocating to South Africa in 2021, I

re-established both my studio and teaching practice in George.

My work became increasingly conceptual, with birds, animals, constructed objects and symbolic environments, creating a visual language through which I could explore human behaviour and experience.
 

My work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Botswana, including group exhibitions in the Southern Cape since relocating to George.
