Breaking Point grew from an interest in the fragile structures we build around identity, belief and control.

Over time, we create ideas about who we are and how life should unfold. We stack expectations, ambitions and beliefs upon one another, assuming they will provide stability and certainty. Yet the structures we build are only applicable to the person that built them.

As life transforms our ideas and beliefs, the framework of structures that were built by a previous version of ourselves no longer serves us and they must break down to transform into something new.

The work reflects on the idea that breaking points are not always endings. Sometimes they are thresholds. In the collapse of what we cling to, we may discover a deeper freedom and a different way of moving forward.
