Regret Phase II: Fantasy of Turning Back Time explores the fragile logic of attempting to reverse what has already settled.
A marionette-like figure labours to return sand to an hourglass through an imagined system of gears and ramps—an elaborate mechanism that promises correction, yet increasingly fails as it progresses.
The structure begins with a sense of plausibility, but gradually dissolves as it approaches its purpose. Gears lose continuity, pathways fragment, and the material itself becomes uncertain.
The work reflects on the human tendency to revisit pivotal moments with the hope of changing their outcome. In this imagined attempt, effort intensifies, but coherence diminishes. The closer one comes to “fixing” the past, the less real the solution becomes.
