The weight within

The Weight Within considers how we can become our own obstacle without fully realising it.
The crane reaches upward, ready for flight, yet remains rooted in place. The force that holds it back does not come from the outside world, but from within. Built gradually through thoughts, beliefs and quiet repetitions, it becomes part of how we see ourselves.
Beneath the surface, root-like forms spread downward, suggesting how these internal narratives often extend further than we realise. What begins as a hesitation, doubt or limiting belief can gradually take hold, shaping decisions and influencing behaviour long after its origin has been forgotten.
The work reflects on the subtle nature of self-doubt. It rarely stops us outright. Instead, it settles quietly beneath the surface, adding weight over time and making it harder to move towards the things we seek. Like the crane, we may be ready for flight while still dragging the very thing that keeps us grounded.
