Unease with Your Narrative explores the point at which a story we have long carried about ourselves begins to feel less certain.
 

The narrative — the familiar story the figure has come to carry about itself — remains firmly entwined around the body, but something has shifted. The repeated, fading positions of the head suggest the first stirrings of unease — a mental shift before any real decision has been made.
 

The handwritten forms surrounding the figure represent the thoughts, conversations and interpretations from which these personal narratives are constructed. Here, however, their hold is beginning to feel less absolute.
 

The work considers the quiet stage that can precede change: the moment when an identity or belief that has been carried for a long time no longer sits quite as comfortably as it once did.
